Fun Valentine`s Day Activities for Kids
The month of February is here and that only means one main thing! Valentine`s Day!
I am not such a huge fan of this special day, thanks to all the pressure to buy expensive presents for our loved ones! But, I do know that it has become an important day for many to express their feelings and appreciation.
If you have kids, then you know that they love to be involved in everything that adults do. So, why not let them join in on the Valentine’s Day fun by having them help make some valentine crafts!
Get Creative
Valentines day is a great opportunity to get kids excited and involved in some fun activities. Not only will they have fun creating things for the special day, they will also be able to learn the importance of gifting to their loved ones. And you mothers, take this opportunity to teach them to make gifts or cards for their dear mothers too!!
There are tons of different valentine activities that your kids can do. And, the best part is that these activities will keep them busy for sometime while you can get some work done!

These valentine’s day activities range from simple tasks for toddlers to slightly complicated ones for young kids.

Fun Valentine`s Day Activities for Kids
1.Valentines Wreath
To make this wreath, all you need is:
- Plain cardboard
- Red construction paper or tissue paper
- Glue
- Scissor
- Thread or ribbon
- Pencil
Trace two concentric hearts on the cardboard. Cut them using a cutter or a scissor (unless your child is capable of using the scissors, I highly recommend the parents to take care of the cutting). Make sure not to throw the center part of the cardboard.
Tie a ribbon or a thread on the top of the wreath.
Cut the construction paper / tissue paper into small pieces. Glue these pieces on to the the wreath,
2.Valentine Card
To make this card, all you need is:
- Plain cardboard
- Red construction paper or tissue paper
- Glue
- Scissor
- Color Pencil
For this activity, you can either use the center piece from the cardboard mentioned above or trace the shape of heart on a separate cardboard and cut it. (unless your child is capable of using the scissors, I highly recommend the parents to take care of the cutting).
Cut the construction paper / tissue paper into small pieces. Glue these pieces on the edges of the heart. Ask your kids to write “I LOVE YOU” or “MAMA” or “PAPA” on it.
3.Valentines Tree
To make this, all you need is:
- Plain white paper
- Red construction paper or tissue paper
- Glue
- Scissor
- Color Pencils / Paint
Trace your kid`s hand and a part of their arm on the paper using brown color pencil. If they are keen, make them paint the whole thing with brown color (to look like a tree).
Cut the construction paper / tissue paper into small pieces (unless your child is capable of using the scissors, I highly recommend the parents to take care of the cutting). Glue these pieces on the top of the tree.
4. Lego Heart
Make an outline of a heart using red lego pieces. Ask your kids to sort the red legos from the lot and fill the inside of the lego outline.
For bigger kids, trace a heart shape on a big paper and ask them to build a heart lego on top of the sheet.
If your kids already know different shapes, let them use their imagination to build a heart lego structure.
5. Cookie Cutter Heart Tracing
To do this activity, all you need is:
- Heart shaped cookie cutter
- Color Pencils / Paint
- Plain paper
Take a plain sheet of paper and trace several hearts using the cookie cutter. Let your toddlers color the hearts using color pencils or paint them.
If you have older kids, let them trace the hearts using the cookie cutters on their own and paint or color them.
6. Cookie Cutter Heart cutting
This activity is for older kids. Let them trace the hearts using the cookie cutter and using scissors cut the hearts.
Encourage them to write on the heart pieces and share them with their friends and family!
7. Stick on Hearts
To do this activity, all you need is:
- Plain cardboard or paper
- Red construction paper or tissue paper
- Glue
- Scissor
- Color Pencil
Draw hearts on a cardboard or a piece of paper. Cut the construction paper / tissue paper into small pieces (unless your child is capable of using the scissors, I highly recommend the parents to take care of the cutting). Glue on the outline of the hearts. Let your kids stick the paper pieces on the outline.
